OneShotTroubles
So, I'm still stuck with my photo editing picasa. I've tried downloading 2 other photo editors. But, for some reason when I plug in my camera and turn it on, the only options for imports are all of my computer defaults and picasa. The thing that happens with Picasa is wierd. I hit the import button and tell it where to import and then i just goes back to normal like it has imported. I can actually go into my files and find the picture in there, under picasa. But, on the actual program, nothing happens. Then, If I close picasa it won't reopen until I've restarted my computer. Then, when I restart my computer, the picture is there where I imported it to. I wouldn't mind using another photo program but like I said when I try to import pictures to the other programs, I can't find where to put them. Also, I'd like for the other program to take all of my pictures out of Picasa and use it for itself. I dont know but I'm frustrated and somewhat discouraged. Any ideas or advice would help me greatly.

someone else may be able to speak to this better as i don't do a ton of import/edit with a photo software but...
ReplyDeletethis is what i would do:
1. bypass any program for importing and get your pictures on the computer using a card reader. they are cheap and way faster than importing via a camera.
2. organize your images in folders rather than storing them inside picasa. as simple as a folder on your desktop. inside that folder organize with more folders.
3. for editing or exporting, import the file (which i would just make a duplicate of so that in a sense you are leaving a master) from the desktop folder, do what you must, export and overwrite the duplicate.
did you see my response in one of your earlier posts about Gimp? its free and very similar to Photoshop. but use it (and in my opinion, any photo editing software) as a stage.
dude... call me if that all sounds like jibberish.
gimp is for nix machines only i thought? and if your on a mac then use iPhoto... if your on a PC , well then, buy a mac.
ReplyDeleteOr Windows Live i thought was their answer to iPhoto
Thanks a lot Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteIsaac, I can use GoToMyPC and show you how to get the pictures from the camera onto your PC. Takes about 2 minutes. Let me know.
ReplyDeletedo yu use usb or firewire? perhaps updating usb drivers would help. i,m just guessing. still it's sad that you can't update. hope to see some soon. good luck. and yeah i can recommend a mac!! just switched and it's great!
